The Brigance Diagnostic Comprehensive Inventory of Basic Skills - Student Braille Edition, model 5-00000-00, is a braille assessment evaluation test designed for use by children who are blind or have low vision. This is a braille version of the Brigance Diagnostic Comprehensive Inventory of Basic Skills (Green), Revised 1999, a criterion-referenced inventory designed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of children from pre-kindergarten through grade nine in selected skills areas. The skill areas assessed in the inventory include general readiness, speech, listening, word recognition grade placement, oral reading, reading comprehension, word analysis, functional word recognition, spelling, writing, reference skills, graphs and maps, math grade placement, numbers, number facts, computation of whole numbers, fractions and mixed numbers, decimals, percents, time, money, U.S. measurement and geometry, and metrics. This braille basic skills inventory is designed to be used in conjunction with the print edition of the inventory. The 23 subtests of the inventory are grouped into 14 braille modules in this braille version, which also comes with tactile representations of diagrams used in the inventory; large print and braille Teacher's Notes, with ideas for alternative assessment methods for each module; and a braille rule for use with math subtests. OPTIONS: Large three-ring binder for organizing the modules. Modules are also available separately.
